Welcome to the Family

We have been working on helmets since 2010 in the wagon bay at the volunteer firehouse. In 2023 we started this business after being asked to work on a few friends' lids and deciding why not. Here at Commonwealth Leathers, we pride ourselves on quality work done for your helmet. We are constantly pushing ourselves to be able to provide more capabilities. If you are curious about doing something to your lid that you don't see on the website reach out to us. We will either get the job done or direct you to a trusted company that can.

Phil Freeman- Owner

Phil is a Private for the District of Columbia Fire Department. Over the last 15 years, Phil has navigated his way through the Fire Service. Starting as a volunteer at Hartwood Volunteer Fire Department in Virginia and later became a career fireman initially in a rural county within the commonwealth, then in the nation's capital. Phil can relate to and understand all types of firemen due to his diverse duty experience. In his limited free time, Phil enjoys being outside in the mountains or at the beach as well as playing hockey. When your helmet is worked on, Phil is the guy working on it. When messages are responded to, Phil is on the other end.
